Here are some brief samples of the different types of projects recorded by our students.

*If you would like to hear the complete version of one of these songs, contact the student who recorded it.

Beatbox with Guitar - Chal Lawson
00:00 / 00:00

Chal Lawson demonstrates one type of student project. He composed and recorded his own music. He had very little time to record this before the class ended early in February. He recorded the beatbox parts one day and the guitar parts on another day. (Second engineer: Ashton Bricker)

Riptide - Jaeden Allen
00:00 / 00:00

Jaeden Allen demonstrates another type of project. A talented vocalist, she chose to sing along with a pre-recorded instrumental track, keeping her focus on her voice.

Boomerang - Jenny Kahn
00:00 / 00:00

Jenny Kahn also focused on her energetic singing, but a suitable pre-recorded instrumental track was not available for the song she wanted to record. She took advantage of the software we use in class to remove most of the vocals from the original recording, and she used the remaining music as her backing track.

Grace Kelly - Madalyn Noll
00:00 / 00:00

Another option for the musician in our recording studio class is to record wherever you like. Maddie Noll chose to record her piano and vocals at home. She brought her piano and voice recordings to school for final production.

Thunderstorm - Ashton Bricker
00:00 / 00:00

Recording studios are also used to make sound effects for film, television, radio, and theater. Ashton Bricker took on the task of designing and producing a thunderstorm sound effect, which is a particularly challenging task for sound designers. How many separate sounds you can hear in this recording?
